Cayman Islands Web3 Foundation registrations rise by 70% with new CARF reporting regulations

The Cayman Islands saw a remarkable 70% increase in foundation registrations, reaching over 1,300 by the end of 2024. Over 400 new registrations were made in 2025, mainly by DAOs in search of legal protections.

The forthcoming CARF regulations, effective January 2026, will require crypto-asset service providers in the Cayman Islands to adhere to due diligence and reporting duties, enhancing compliance while maintaining the region’s appeal for Web3 initiatives.
