On June 3, the Ministry of Public Security announced the prosecution of a case due to violations of regulations on state property management at Vietnam Mineral and Metallurgy Company (VTM). The case is linked to signs of corruption and waste, and is under the direction of the Central Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption. CEO Bui Thanh Binh has been prosecuted for two charges: “violating regulations on the management and use of state assets” and “receiving bribes”. In addition to Mr. Binh, several other company directors have also been prosecuted for offenses related to bribery and bribery brokerage. The investigative agency is expanding the case to clarify violations and recover assets for the state.
