Chairman of a Leading Steel Company Unexpectedly Resigns After Transferring over 200 Billion Shares to His Wife

CTCP Viet Duc Steel Pipe (VGS) announced that chairman Le Minh Hai resigned due to the need to research new projects. Prior to resigning, he transferred 8.35 million shares (14.93% ownership) to his wife, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, making her the largest shareholder with 25.67% ownership. Another board member, Nguyen Thi Nhi, sold all her shares, ceasing to be a shareholder. VGS shares are currently trading at 29,000 VND each. In Q4 2024, VGS reported a revenue of 1,654 billion VND, a 22.8% decrease from the previous year, while profit soared to 74 billion VND, a 189% increase. For the full year of 2024, revenue reached 7,352 billion VND with a profit growth of 89% compared to 2023.
