Cheongju City in South Korea introduces trading account for seized cryptocurrencies

Cheongju City has introduced a virtual asset trading account that allows delinquent taxpayers to directly sell seized cryptocurrencies, addressing limited tax revenue recovery.

Since 2021, the city seized virtual assets from 203 taxpayers, valued at around 1.5 billion KRW, belonging to 161 individuals, urging them to sell or face forced sales procedures.
