China insists large export numbers aren’t about global takeover ambitions

Vice Finance Minister Liao Min affirmed that China’s exports align with domestic demand rather than a strategy for global market control. He emphasized that exports are a response to international demand.

In the first half of 2025, China achieved a $586 billion trade surplus. The government has issued 300 billion yuan to boost local spending and support a shift to a consumption-driven economy.
