China’s commerce ministry states that new rare-earth export restrictions are lawful, not bans

China’s Ministry of Commerce clarified that recent rare-earth export controls are not blanket bans but lawful steps ensuring national security. The announcement emphasized the importance of licensing and compliance for civilian exports.

In light of President Trump’s tariff plans, the MOFCOM criticized U.S. Policies as double standards. The ministry reaffirmed its commitment to protect its interests while calling for managed consultations to resolve trade differences.
