Coinbase meets Karnataka minister for blockchain push in India

In Bengaluru, Coinbase’s Chief Legal Officer, Paul Grewal, met with Karnataka’s IT Minister, Priyank Kharge, to discuss potential collaborations in blockchain and cybersecurity, focusing on enhancing developer participation.

Topics included sharing developer tools, hosting hackathons, and training programs to support Karnataka’s tech ecosystem. Grewal emphasized the future of on-chain technology being built in Karnataka.

Coinbase aims to re-enter the Indian market after overcoming regulatory hurdles in 2023. The meeting coincided with the introduction of the COINS Act, which seeks to establish a framework for crypto regulation in India.
