Coinbase’s new futures index tracks Bitcoin, Ethereum—plus ‘Mag 7’ stocks like Nvidia

Coinbase is launching a new index that includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and seven significant tech stocks, named ‘Mag 7 + Crypto Equity Index Futures’. The index will be available from September 22, 2025, and aims to provide comprehensive exposure to both cryptocurrencies and the tech sector.

The index will use BlackRock’s Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs for tracking and will not be available on Coinbase’s app initially. Each component’s equal weighting means that price changes in Bitcoin and Ethereum will equally influence the index’s performance alongside tech stocks.
