Colombia requires disclosure of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency transaction information

Colombia’s tax authority, DIAN, has enacted rules mandating service providers to disclose transaction details for cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ethereum. This is aligned with the OECD’s framework to boost tax transparency.

Service providers must report details such as ownership and transaction volumes. Transactions exceeding 50,000 USD will automatically trigger reporting, with penalties ranging from 0.5% to 1% for non-compliance.
