Crypto developer activity returns to 2018 levels, while Ethereum retains a significant share of innovation

Developer activity in the crypto space has regressed to 2018 levels, with overall GitHub commits significantly lower. Ethereum, however, continues to dominate, contributing around 40% of new code despite the general downturn.

Even as project activity dwindles, the demand for skilled Web3 developers persists. Tether is notably on a hiring spree, highlighting the ongoing need for talent in the crypto sector.

Ethereum maintains a lead over Solana in terms of developer activity, with approximately 200 active developers and 200 to 300 weekly commits. Conversely, Solana has seen a decrease in both developers and weekly commits.
