Cumulative electricity generation from Hòa Phát’s thermal power plant reaches nearly 13 billion kWh after 8 years of operation, equivalent to 23.4 trillion VND

The Thermal Power Plant of Hòa Phát Dung Quất Company has recorded a cumulative electricity production of nearly 13 billion kWh after 8 years of operation, equivalent to 23.4 trillion VND. By the end of 2025, the plant achieved an output of over 3.3 billion kWh, meeting 90% of the electricity demand for steel production, enabling the integrated complex to self-sustain most of its electricity supply and relieve pressure on the national grid during peak times.

The company invested in modern technology from G7 countries, optimizing the production process and effectively utilizing waste heat and gas from the coke, pig iron, and steel smelting processes to create steady and cost-effective electricity. The integrated complex has a total investment of 60 trillion VND and is currently implementing the Hòa Phát Dung Quất 2 project with 85 trillion VND, increasing the total capacity to 12 million tons/year.
