Czech minister of finance will not resign over Bitcoin scandal

Zbyněk Stanjura has firmly rejected calls for his resignation amid controversy surrounding a Bitcoin donation. He insists that the Finance Ministry was not responsible for accepting this crypto donation.

The scandal has cost Pavel Blažek, the former Minister of Justice, his position and intensified discussions about a possible vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Petr Fiala’s government.

Critics, including the Czech Cryptocurrency Association, have accused the government of failing to adhere to EU regulations regarding donation acceptance, highlighting serious issues with the lack of transparency and accountability.
