DNH: Results and development of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant

Ngoan Muc Pass on National Highway 27, famous for being the steepest in Southern Vietnam, is often confused with the water pipeline of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant. The plant, inaugurated in 1961 and completed in 1964, initially had a capacity of 160 MW, expanded to 240 MW in 2015. The pressure pipeline, 2,257m long, was built in parallel, with a slope from 20 to 45 degrees. It utilized funding of 39 million USD from the Japanese government and a loan of 9 million USD. Annually, the plant provides about 1 billion kWh to the national grid and supplies water for agriculture on 16,000 ha. Da Nhim – Ham Thuan – Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company, with EVNGENCO1 holding 99.93% share, transformed from a plant to a joint stock company in 2011 and was listed on UpCom in 2017 under the code DNH. In the first half of 2025, the company recorded revenues of 1.119 trillion VND and after-tax profit of 435 billion VND, showing strong growth compared to previous years.
