Vietjet Chairwoman, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, visited the NYSE and met with Chairperson Lynn Martin. The event followed the delivery of the first Boeing 737 MAX to Vietjet, marking a significant contract between Vietnam and the US worth $32 billion. Thao highlighted the development of Vietnam’s capital market and expressed a desire to expand fundraising channels in New York, emphasizing that this ambition is shared by many Vietnamese companies. The NYSE Chairperson indicated readiness to support Vietnamese companies in seeking opportunities in this market. Both Vietjet and HDBank are key stocks on the Vietnamese stock exchange, and their pursuit of the NYSE is seen as a strategic milestone. During her visit, Thao also participated in the bell-ringing ceremony marking the end of the trading day on September 23, when the US stock market saw a positive uptick.
