Ethereum core developer critiques foundation’s pay structure, claiming total earnings of 625,000 USD over six years

Péter Szilágyi expressed disappointment in the Ethereum Foundation’s pay structure, revealing that his total compensation over 6 years was only 625,000 USD. This low remuneration compels developers to seek external income, threatening the integrity of the protocol.

Szilágyi criticized the lack of transparency and concentrated power within the Ethereum ecosystem, stating it is increasingly dominated by a small group led by Vitalik Buterin. He noted a shift from idealism to realism, expressing concerns about the future of Ethereum.
