The Ethereum Foundation has unveiled plans to incorporate a zero-knowledge Virtual Machine (zkEVM) at its base layer to optimize efficiency and diminish computational overhead.
Sophia Gold from Ethereum Foundation indicated that this upgrade will empower validators to verify transactions off-chain through zero-knowledge proofs, facilitating a more streamlined validation process.
This initiative aims for a latency enhancement by November 2025, positioning Ethereum at the forefront of zero-knowledge proof application, contingent on overcoming existing technical challenges.
