Ethereum dominance surges 12%, yet ETH struggles to hold 2,000 USD – why?

Despite a surge in Ethereum’s dominance of 12%, ETH is facing significant price stability challenges. Having peaked at 3,700 USD in January 2025, it is now struggling to maintain the 2,000 USD mark.

The growth in Ethereum’s dominance has not resulted from increased ETH trading, but rather from a decline in altcoin trading volumes, indicating a shift in liquidity toward ETH and a weakening altcoin market.

Although Ethereum’s dominance has surged, its on-chain activity does not align with current pricing, creating a scenario indicative of potential bubbles. Long-term ETH investors are still at a loss, hinting at an overvaluation of ETH in current market conditions.
