The U.S. Justice Department has officially closed its investigation into Kraken founder Jesse Powell, returning seized devices from a 2023 FBI raid. The investigation was unrelated to Kraken’s operations, focusing instead on allegations linked to Powell’s conflict with the Verge Center for the Arts nonprofit.
Jesse Powell strongly denies the allegations of hacking and cyberstalking, asserting they arise from a personal feud with the nonprofit’s board. His attorney has confirmed the closure of the probe is a step towards reinstating Powell’s and Kraken’s reputations.
