Fed’s Bostic: Bold moves ‘in any direction’ wouldn’t be prudent

Raphael Bostic emphasized that the Fed should avoid drastic policy measures, citing considerable economic uncertainty as a primary reason for caution. He pointed out that the current tariffs may prolong inflation targets, with U.S. GDP growth expected to slow this year.

The president noted that average tariffs on U.S. Imports have surged to approximately 25%, complicating the economic landscape. He expressed concerns that the economic scenario lacks clarity and called for a careful approach moving forward.
