For the first time in history, companies of 6 Vietnamese billionaires contributed 112 trillion VND to the state budget, surpassing the state-owned giant PVN

In 2024, companies owned by 6 Vietnamese billionaires contributed 112 trillion VND to the state budget, surpassing the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) which contributed nearly 77.4 trillion VND. These billionaires include Pham Nhat Vuong (Vingroup), Tran Ba Duong (THACO), Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao (Vietjet Air & HDBank), Tran Dinh Long (Hoa Phat), Ho Hung Anh (Techcombank), and Nguyen Dang Quang (Masan Group). Vingroup led with nearly 56 trillion VND, an 82% increase compared to 2023. Along with THACO’s 23.7 trillion VND, Hoa Phat’s 13.4 trillion VND, Techcombank’s nearly 6.8 trillion VND, Masan’s over 4.8 trillion VND, and HDBank’s 6 trillion VND, the PRIVATE 100 list was created to honor the largest private enterprises contributing to the state budget. This marks an important milestone in assessing the role of private enterprises in the Vietnamese economy.
