The Vietnamese stock market is booming with the VN-Index rising nearly 390 points, reaching a record 1,654 points. Notably, there are 10 banks with a capitalization exceeding 100,000 billion, including Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, and other major names, accounting for over half of the entire market value. The banking sector leads growth due to new policies from the State Bank, such as adjustments to credit growth limits and required reserve ratios. Notably, some banks like Vietcombank and HDBank have undertaken mandatory transfers of weak banks, creating growth opportunities. Additionally, many banks are focusing on IPOs of securities companies and entering the blockchain and digital asset sector, with several partnership initiatives launched. The trend of investing in digital assets is also strengthening in Vietnam, with the approval of the Digital Technology Industry Law.
