For the first time in Vietnam’s history, there are 10 banks with capitalization over 100 trillion VND

Vietnam’s stock market is reaching new records, with the VN-Index hitting 1,654 points, a 30% increase since the beginning of the year, and total market capitalization nearing 9 trillion VND. Notably, there are 23 stocks surpassing 100 trillion VND in capitalization, with 10 leading banks such as Vietcombank, BIDV, and Techcombank. The banking sector is gaining attention with key topics like credit room and required reserve ratios, allowing for expanded credit growth and facilitating the transfer of weak banks. Additionally, the trend of IPOing member securities companies is attracting interest from banks like VPBank and TCBS. Furthermore, banks are investing in the blockchain sector, as MB collaborates with Dunamu to develop a cryptocurrency exchange. Digital assets are becoming an important trend, especially after the National Assembly approved the Digital Technology Industry Law.
