German Court Trials Vingroup’s Case Against Le Trung Khoa for Defamation

On November 4, 2025, the Civil Court in Berlin held a trial regarding Vingroup’s defamation lawsuit against Le Trung Khoa, editor of the website thoibao.de. The plaintiffs, VinFast and Pham Nhat Vuong, demanded the court order the defendant to immediately cease defamatory actions and writings that tarnish Vingroup’s honor. Accusations included calling Vingroup a “mafia group” and “bombing the thoibao.de headquarters.” Le Trung Khoa failed to provide any evidence for his claims and did not submit a defense as requested by the court. The court suggested mediation, but the plaintiff refused, citing severe damage to their reputation and asserting that free speech should not infringe upon the rights of others. The court’s verdict is expected to be announced later that day.
