Ghana moves to license cryptocurrency platforms for revenue and regulation

Ghana’s regulatory framework will license crypto platforms by September 2025 to incorporate digital assets into the financial system. Governor Johnson Asiama stated that the new framework will facilitate trade and provide valuable data.

The decision also reflects a regional trend, aligning with Nigeria and South Africa’s reforms on digital assets, emphasizing the shift from a prior ban and promoting financial stability.
