Gold reaches record high exceeding $5,000, diverging from Bitcoin trends

Gold rose to a new peak of 5,080 USD, marking a 17% increase during January amid fears of a potential U.S. Government shutdown. Silver also increased significantly, surpassing 107 USD per ounce.

In contrast, Bitcoin fell to 86,000 USD, 30% below its October peak of 126,000 USD, indicating a growing schism in market performance between the two assets.
