On October 12, 2025, Duc Giang Chemical (DGC) signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding a Bauxite Complex project in Lam Dong province, with a total investment of approximately 2.3 billion USD. DGC plans to develop a value chain from bauxite ore extraction to aluminum ingot production. The project includes the extraction of 14.4 million tons of raw ore per year and the production of 5.8 million tons of refined ore annually, with alumina being transported to the Aluminum Electrolysis Plant in Binh Thuan. The project aims for a capacity of 2 million tons of alumina and 500,000 tons of aluminum per year, generating 37 trillion VND in revenue and contributing 4.8 trillion VND to the province’s budget annually. DGC has prepared financial resources, including about 10 trillion VND in cash and a credit commitment of 14.5 trillion VND from Vietcombank, allowing for an initial investment of 1 billion USD. The project aligns with the government’s direction on mining and deep processing of bauxite.
