A hacker group is using hijacked Discord invite links to deliver malware, specifically targeting crypto users. The method involves exploiting expired legitimate links, introducing malware like Skuld and AsyncRAT. Cybersecurity firm Check Point notes that victims especially hail from the US and various parts of Europe and Asia.
The attackers exploit Discord’s link invitation system, enabling them to reroute users unknowingly. Legitimate users may click on old links that appear trustworthy, but are, in fact, leading them to malicious servers. The malware effectively steers crypto wallet users into revealing sensitive information, endangering their digital assets.
