The Vietnam Maritime and Waterway Administration issued Decision No. 300/QD-CHHDTVN on the opening of Berth No. 3 at Lach Huyen port area, Hai Phong Port. This berth is 750m long with a designed capacity of 1.1 million TEU/year, invested by Hai Phong Port, a member of VIMC. Berth No. 3 can accommodate container ships of 100,000 DWT, with a length of 375m, ensuring safety and modern quality. Hai Phong Port reached a cargo throughput of 40 million tons, including approximately 2 million TEUs of container cargo. The operation of Berth No. 3 is expected to begin this weekend, while Berth No. 4 will be operational in 2025, aiming to enhance cargo reception capacity and reduce time and costs for transporting goods from Vietnam to the Americas and Europe.
