HashFlare ponzi duo ordered to leave US by DHS—despite court order to stay

Despite a court order allowing them to stay in the U.S., DHS has ordered Sergei Potapenko and Ivan Turõgin to leave immediately or face law enforcement actions. Their lawyers have raised concerns about potential wrongful deportations, highlighting the risks involved.

The duo pled guilty to conspiracy related to a $577 million Ponzi scheme and agreed to forfeit $400 million in assets. Lawyers are working to clarify their clients’ immigration status and emphasize their compliance with court orders while awaiting a scheduled sentencing.
