Koi Security has identified over 40 fake wallet extensions in the Firefox store that target crypto credentials. The attackers have been active since April 2025, continuously releasing new extensions.
The fraudulent extensions mimic real wallet tools from popular platforms, utilizing fake reviews to lure unsuspecting users. This sophisticated strategy increases installation rates while going undetected.
Crypto-related losses have reached 2.2 billion USD in the first half of 2025, with wallet breaches accounting for 1.7 billion USD alone. These incidents highlight the escalating threats in the industry.
