On October 20th, the Vietnamese stock market experienced a sharp decline, with the VN-Index dropping 94.76 points (5.47%) to 1,636.43 points, marking a record point drop. Many stocks fell to their floor prices, causing significant losses for billionaires. Vietnam’s richest man, Pham Nhat Vuong, lost 20.4 trillion VND (4.5%), decreasing his fortune to 18.3 billion USD. Other billionaires like Tran Dinh Long, Ho Hung Anh, and Nguyen Dang Quang also saw their fortunes drop significantly, from 1.9 to 3.9 trillion VND. On the other hand, billionaire Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao experienced the least loss at 400 billion VND (1%). According to Forbes, Pham Nhat Vuong had the largest loss in the world on that day.
