Investors are urging Apple to consider investing in or acquiring AI companies after a major decline in stock value. The tech giant’s market value has dropped over 630 billion USD this year, sparking calls for a strategic shift and increased M&A activity.
Apple is reportedly looking into a bid for Perplexity AI, valued at around 14 billion USD. Analysts believe that such an acquisition could significantly enhance Apple’s AI capabilities, which have been lacking in recent developments.
To respond to competition, Apple CEO Tim Cook is advised to recruit more AI experts, similar to strategies employed by Meta Platforms. The tech firm still has substantial cash reserves, making it well-positioned to compete in the evolving AI landscape.
