Javier Milei’s La Libertad Avanza party won the Argentine midterm elections with 40.68% of votes counted, marking a significant achievement especially in Buenos Aires province, previously a stronghold for the Peronist party.
Milei’s victory positions him as a frontrunner for the 2027 presidential election, as he advocates for free-market principles and the legalization of contracts in Bitcoin. Despite this, public trust has declined significantly due to his involvement in the Libra token scandal.
