Kazakhstan to permit crypto payments in pilot mode

Kazakhstan is set to test cryptocurrency payments within an innovative zone known as ‘CryptoCity’. This initiative aims to allow digital assets to be used for transactions, enhancing the country’s digital economy.

The government anticipates that the introduction of flexible regulations for crypto could generate over 370 million USD in the national budget. This marks a substantial shift from previous years of strict crypto regulation.

Beyond cryptocurrency, President Tokayev expressed aspirations for Kazakhstan to emerge as a central IT hub in Eurasia, prioritizing investments in artificial intelligence and digital innovation to foster economic growth.
