On August 28, 2025, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PV Oil) announced that SK Energy Co., Ltd has sold 10.8 million shares and is no longer a major shareholder. Before the transaction, SK Energy held over 54.1 million shares (5.23% of capital) but after selling, it holds 43.3 million shares (4.19% of capital). The share price of OIL on August 22 was 11,800 VND, with SK estimated to have earned about 127 billion VND. SK Energy, a leading energy company in Korea, has been a major shareholder of PV Oil since 2018. The parent company of PV Oil, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), holds 80.52% of the shares. In the first half of 2025, PV Oil recorded a revenue of 72.696 trillion VND, up 13%, but net profit fell by 33% compared to the previous year. PV Oil has also finalized its list of shareholders to receive a 2.5% cash dividend, planning to allocate 250 billion VND for this.
