Korean Company No Longer Major Shareholder at Nam Kim Steel as It Does Not Buy Additional Shares

Nam Kim Steel Corporation (NKG) has announced a change in its shareholder structure, where Unicoh Specialty Chemicals Co., LTD, a South Korean company, is no longer a major shareholder. On February 27, Nam Kim Steel offered 131.6 million shares to existing shareholders at 12,000 VND per share to raise 1,580 billion VND for the Nam Kim Phu My roofing steel factory project. This funding supports a major investment plan totaling 4,500 billion VND for Phase 1. Following the transaction, the total number of NKG shares increased to 447.57 million shares, reducing Unicoh’s ownership from 5.03% to 3.55%. In 2024, Nam Kim Steel recorded revenue of 20,609 billion VND, an 11% increase year-on-year, and a profit of 453 billion VND, 3.8 times higher than in 2023. This success was largely due to its export strategy, which accounted for 65% of total consumption.
