Ledger revealed a critical security flaw in the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chip used in Solana phones, allowing full control by attackers through electromagnetic pulses. This puts users’ private keys and crypto wallets in jeopardy.
MediaTek claims this chip wasn’t designed for financial applications and lacks defenses against such attacks. Although the likelihood of attack success is low (0.1% to 1%), repeated attempts could lead to successful breaches.
