MAG-7 refers to the group of 7 major listed companies in Vietnam, including 4 banks (Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, Techcombank) and 3 companies from the Vingroup group (Vingroup, Vinhomes, Vinpearl), with a total market capitalization of nearly 1.9 million billion VND, accounting for one-third of the HoSE. This group primarily consists of financial banking and real estate stocks, significantly impacting the VN-Index. While other sectors like technology and healthcare lack major representation, the Vietnamese stock market exhibits notable imbalances. However, changes are anticipated as the market welcomes new listings with notable IPOs from companies such as TCBS, F88, and Viettel IDC in the coming years. Furthermore, Vietnam’s economy is undergoing a transition, focusing on the development of science and technology and the private sector, aiming to foster sustainable growth and realize its aspiration of becoming a developed country by 2045.
