The “MAG-7 Vietnam Stock Market” consists of seven major companies: four banks (Vietcombank, BIDV, VietinBank, Techcombank) and three companies under Vingroup (Vingroup, Vinhomes, Vinpearl). The total market capitalization of this group is about 1.9 quadrillion VND, accounting for one third of the HoSE exchange. This highlights the dominance of the financial and real estate sectors in the Vietnamese stock market, which represents around 60% of total market capitalization, whereas sectors like technology and healthcare lack strong representation. This situation contrasts with the US stock market, where technology and healthcare sectors are dominant. It is forecasted that in the 2027-2028 period, Vietnam will witness a wave of large IPOs, promising to renew the economic structure and promote development, especially in technology and private sectors, to pave the way into a new era of growth.
