The team at ReversingLabs identified malicious packages ‘Bitcoinlibdbfix’ and ‘Bitcoinlib-dev,’ which posed as fixes for Bitcoin transaction errors. These malware packages aimed to steal sensitive data by overriding legitimate commands.
Discussions on GitHub recognized these as scams, which led to their removal. Fortunately, since these packages are no longer available, they do not present any current risk to the Bitcoin developer community.
