Many billion-dollar companies face the risk of losing public company status

Many large companies like PV GAS, BSR, ACV, and BIDV bank are at risk of losing their public company status due to failure to meet requirements of the Securities Law. Specifically, they must have at least 10% of shares held by 100 small investors. PV GAS announced adverse shareholder conditions with 95.76% of shares held by a single major shareholder, leaving only 4.24% for 17,494 small shareholders. Similarly, other companies like VIMICO and PGD face the same challenges due to most shares being held by parent companies or strategic investors. This trend affects many notable entities in the stock market like BIDV, GVR, and BSR, which do not meet the minimum small shareholder ownership. Without improvement before the deadline, these companies will need to file for deregistration as public companies, leading to a potential loss of investor confidence.
