Many businesses report profit losses compared to the same period in the first half of 2025

In the first half of 2025, many businesses reported significant profit declines compared to the same period in 2024, with some experiencing nearly 100% losses. Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) led the list with profits dropping from 35 billion to 400 million VND, and from 844 billion to 12 billion VND respectively, primarily due to unfavorable market conditions and supply shortages. The construction giant Hòa Bình (HBC) also reported a profit of 57 billion, down 93% year-on-year. The securities sector witnessed substantial losses with companies like VDSC decreasing by 97%, Trí Việt Securities by 94%, and APG by 86%. Other notable losses include NSH Petro (332 billion VND loss), Novaland (261 billion VND loss), and Cảng Phước An (248 billion VND loss). While some companies showed growth, the overall situation indicates a need for improvement.
