In the first six months of 2025, many businesses reported significant profit declines compared to the same period in 2024. Companies like Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) saw near 100% drops in pre-tax profits; VNA fell from 35 billion VND to 400 million, while NTL dropped from 844 billion to 12 billion VND. The main reasons include challenging market conditions, unstable supply, and no qualifying projects for NTL. Hòa Bình (HBC) also reported a profit of 57 billion VND, a 93% decrease. The securities sector had several companies reporting losses, such as VDSC (down 97%) and Trí Việt Securities (down 94%). Additionally, many firms in manufacturing, food, and media recorded losses, with the three largest losses seen at NSH Petro (332 billion), Novaland (261 billion), and Cảng Phước An (248 billion).
