Many companies face zero profits compared to the same period in H1 2025

In the first half of 2025, many companies have experienced a serious decline in profits compared to the same period last year. Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) saw their profits before tax nearly drop to zero, from 35 billion to just 400 million VND for VNA and from 844 billion to 12 billion VND for NTL. The reasons for VNA’s drop are due to an unstable market and increased costs in ship operations, while NTL faced a 90% drop in net revenue with no qualifying projects for business. The construction sector was also affected, with Hòa Bình (HBC) reporting a 93% profit decrease from 841 billion to 57 billion VND. The securities sector suffered greatly, with four companies reporting significant profit drops, such as VDSC, which decreased by 97%. Additionally, numerous other companies across manufacturing, investment, beverage, and energy also reported significant losses, including NSH Petro with a loss of 332 billion VND, Novaland with 261 billion VND, and Cảng Phước An with 248 billion VND.
