In the first half of 2025, many companies experienced a sharp decline in profits, even close to 100% compared to the same period in 2024. Vinaship (VNA) and Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) took the lead with pre-tax profits dropping from hundreds of billions to just millions of dong. VNA fell from 35 billion to 400 million dong due to adverse market conditions affecting efficiencies and unforeseen costs. NTL saw a 90% drop in revenue as it had no qualifying projects. Construction giant Hòa Bình (HBC) also reported a 93% profit decrease, down from 841 billion to 57 billion. Several securities companies like VDSC, Trí Việt Securities, APG, and EVS suffered declines of 97-77%. Other sectors, including rubber production, F&B, and coal, also recorded significant profit declines. Furthermore, some companies like NSH Petro, Novaland, and Cảng Phước An reported large losses, with losses of 332 billion, 261 billion, and 248 billion dong, respectively.
