Lamberd Akhiadov reportedly received a total of 151,000 USD in cryptocurrency before committing a terrorist act on December 31, 2022. He allegedly sent some funds to relatives in Turkey prior to his return to Russia and subsequent attack on a traffic officer.
In January 2023, Russian police arrested Akhiadov, uncovering his connections to the Islamic State terrorist group. He moved his family to Turkey gradually and was on a terrorist watch list as law enforcement investigated his activities before the tragic incident.
