Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong’s Empire Has Only 37.3% Female Employees But Female Leaders Make Up 59%; Banking Is a ‘Sanctuary’ for Women Except for Sacombank

According to the 2024 annual report of 21 major companies in Vietnam, the proportion of female employees at Vingroup is only 37.3%, yet 59% of management positions are held by women. The banking sector has a high female representation (around 60%), except for Sacombank at 48.28%. At Vingroup, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong asserts that women have advantages in management roles in finance, legal, and business. However, at Vinhomes, the percentage of female managers is only 28.7%, while Masan Group has 62.4% females but only 43% in managerial roles. Although the banking sector attracts many women to the labor market, the proportion of female leaders remains low, particularly at Sacombank, with 24.1%. According to the ILO, women in Vietnam make up nearly 50% of the workforce but hold only 1/4 of leadership positions, facing inequality in career advancement opportunities.
