Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong’s Empire Has Only 37.3% Female Employees but Female Leaders Make Up 59%, Banking is a ‘Sanctuary’ for Women Except for Sacombank

A report on 21 major companies in Vietnam shows that, out of more than 576,000 employees, only 37.3% are women at Vingroup, yet 59% of management positions are held by women. The banking sector has a high female employee ratio of nearly 60%, except for Sacombank with a low ratio of 48.28% and only 24.1% female in management. However, at Vinhomes, a subsidiary of Vingroup, the percentage of women in management positions is only 28.7%. Masan Group boasts 62.4% female employees but only 43% in management. The ILO 2021 report indicates that while Vietnamese women participate well in the labor force, they face inequalities in advancement opportunities and often bear family responsibilities, limiting their career development.
