‘Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong’s Empire Has Only 37.3% Female Employees, Yet Women Hold 59% of Leadership Positions; Banking Is the ‘Holy Land’ for Women Except for Sacombank

The 2024 annual report shows that among the 21 largest companies in Vietnam, the proportion of female employees is around 37.3%, particularly in heavy industry sectors. However, at Vingroup, although the number of female employees is low, the percentage of women in leadership positions reaches 59%. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong believes that women have strengths in financial and legal management, so he appointed many female leaders. In contrast, the banking sector mainly has a high percentage of female employment (60%), but the number of female managers remains below 50% at some banks like Sacombank. Research from ILO indicates that while women participate in the labor force above 70%, they only account for 1/4 of leadership positions and bear more responsibility for family work than men.
