Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong’s Empire Has Only 37.3% Female Staff but 59% of Female Leaders, Banks Are the ‘Sanctuary’ for Women Except Sacombank

The 2024 annual report shows that among 21 major enterprises in Vietnam, 11 have a higher ratio of male employees. For example, Hoa Phat Group (HPG) has only 12% female staff. In contrast, banks have a high female ratio of around 60%, except for Sacombank at 48%. At Vingroup (VIC), although only 37.3% of staff are female, they hold 59% of leadership positions. Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong believes women excel in management roles. Conversely, at Vinhomes, while 34.2% of staff are female, only 28.7% are female leaders. Similarly, at Masan Group (MSN), 62.4% of employees are female, but only 43% are in management. Furthermore, although women participate in the labor force at a high rate (over 70%), only about 1/4 of leadership positions are held by women, indicating inequality and challenges in career advancement.
